Our Story
Makin Sport Horses International is the evolution of a distinguished British equestrian legacy. Our story began in 1954 at Harringay Arena, where Chris Makin’s grandfather, Edmund “Eddie” Makin, secured a historic victory in the HOYS Puissance aboard Starlight. This triumph established the Makin name at the pinnacle of the sport.
Chris inherited this passion, managing twenty ponies by age sixteen and cultivating a sharp eye for conformation and world-class production. MSHI specialise in producing elite four and five-year-old sport horses, collaborating with top-tier riders like Laura Collett, Holly Woodhead, Hayden Hankey and Michael Jackson to provide our horses with an unrivaled foundation for future success.
